One recurring phrase in the commentaries about Glasgow East has been “political earthquake” – even my other half to be (in his wishful thinking) has referred to a tremor about to hit Scottish politics.So , for both of us to experience a real earthquake at 6am this morning was a classic example of synchronicity. A strong earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit Rhodes , and luckily the epicentre was off the coast , or there mightve been more damage. Sadly there was one death , a local woman who slipped and fell when fleeing her house. Apparently in some resorts people did leave their hotels but we didn’t even leave the room as it there seemed no point.Being woken from sleep to find the room shaking is a bit off-putting, but for me was a case of deja vu. I knew immediately what was going on – four years ago in Japan I’d experienced the same bizarre awakening.The really scary thing is there’s nothing you can do except let it pass and hope you get through ok. So there are absolutely no parallels whatsoever with the current political climate in Scotland – ok ?
