Partick, Politics and Passions

Young at heart..

Dropped in on the Active Seniors Event in Victoria Park today – one of my favourite parks, even before it became part of my new ward – and was mildly surprised how many people I knew were taking part in the various stalls and activities. Thanks to Sandy who introduced me to Johnnie Beattie (fan photo below) who mentioned that he hardly ever gets asked for his autograph anymore as people would rather take photos with their phones.

Meanwhile, latest Tesco news is neighbour notifications have gone out for another application which is retail only – I was doing my homework to prepare for a hearing on the existing application which I thought was coming to committee soon – but it appears as if this is plan D or is it E ? Quite a saga , and the STOP campaign website has a good account of the issues at stake : http://www.stoptesco.info/ One of the best features on the issue was in the Sunday Herald recently : http://www.sundayherald.com/life/people/display.var.1411765.0.turning_their_backs_on_tesco.php
