Partick, Politics and Passions

24 Hour Party People

Could be a description of most of the political obsessives I know, but hearing the news about Tony Wilson’s death had me searching my DVD collection for the film of the same name, and playing New Order and Joy Divison tracks. He highlighted the issue of funding drug treatments and lack of a universal approach to prescribing (in tabloid shorthand, postcode lottery) as the recommended drug for his cancer, Sutent, wasn’t one the local NHS Trust was going to fund. No easy answers on offer, but surely we need to have a debate about the importance of defining “universal” in health care terms ?

  1. Hi Aileen, I’ve now added your contact details and surgery times etc to the Glasgow North Labour website under the Contact section. I’m in the process of putting up the details of all the Glasgow North representatives.

Well done with the blog so far!
