Partick, Politics and Passions

About Me

ward12aileencolleran22.jpg I was first elected in 1999, representing Partick, and have now been re-elected in 2007 as the sole Labour councillor for Partick West in the new multi-member ward. I used to be a librarian, but I’m alright now – actually am proud of my profession , in many ways it was the ideal job, being paid to buy books and CD’s, but I didn’t want to do that for the rest of my life. I didnt deliberately set out to be a political animal, it just crept up on me , but am now a full-time councillor. Although politics is the main focus of my life, I do raise my head from time to time to look at the cultural universe around me, and am fascinated by the internet (as an information junkie would be) .
